This website contains information relating to the Stratford Family. Its purpose is to:
document the history of the family; enable members of the clan to interact with one another;share information, new findings,
and documents; and be a resource for Stratford descendants tracing their roots.
Since 2002, "clan" reunions have been organized to visit houses, villages and churches all connected to the Stratfords in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Ireland when they were a powerful land-owning family.
The coat of arms is used by kind permission of the owner Gerald Stratford and may not be used without his written consent.

One of her ancestors, Frances Howard and her husband Robert Carr were tried for poisoning Thomas Overbury, one of our forebears. Frances admitted her guilt but Robert pleaded his innocence. The Howard family conspired to have Thomas Overbury tried for treason and he was found guilty. He was put in the Tower of London 22 April 1613 and died five months later of "natural causes". However, it was proved he was poisoned in the July 1613.
